Knitting & Crochet
Great yarns in natural fibers (click here for our list of vendors), as well as needles from Brittany, Bryspun, Addi Turbo and others. The Yarn Shop is sure to have the equipment you need for your next project.
Spinning

The Yarn Shop offers Ashford Traveler spinning wheels — compact, upright-style wheels that can hit the road with you. Traveler wheels are available in either single- or double-drive, with either single- or double-treadle (a double-drive, double treadle wheel is shown here). And a lazy kate is incorporated into the Traveler. Come test-drive our store wheel, or take a class to try your hand. And stay tuned for more spinning news.
kumihimo
From the Japanese words kumi (to plait) and himo (string or cord) comes this easy-to-learn craft that's rich with possibilities for belts, bag handles, jewelry, and so much more. While kumihimo is traditionally
created on wooden stands with multiple bobbins, The Yarn Shop has found a low-cost and highly portable way to try your hand. Our Kumihimo Plates create flat braids, while the Disks create cords.

WeavingFrom triangle looms hand-crafted by a local artisan to rigid heddle looms from Ashford — including the popular and compact Knitters Loom — the Yarn Shop offers equipment both for sale and for rent.
Genie O., The Yarn Shop's resident jewelry designer, creates beautiful finished pieces for sale, and offers a wide selection of beads and findings for your own jewelry-making adventures. Genie also teaches jewelry classes by appointment.
